Our Approach

We know that a return to work and education is not simply a return to normal. There’s a greater responsibility on employers to enhance their duty of care by providing a continually safe and hygienic working environment. This is combined with several concerns and questions on the part of their employees around the cleanliness of their surroundings.

In a recent LinkedIn poll, 78% of those who voted told us that they would feel safer returning to the office if the communal areas were sanitised throughout the day. This demonstrates the importance of cleaning for the physical and psychological wellbeing of your stakeholders.

Our Expertise

We already deliver similar services to several of our education and corporate clients by providing over 2,100 weekly hours, at over 40 premises.

It’s through our approach to excellence and development of best practice that we have been able to guarantee the safety of all site users, minimise Covid outbreaks and provide a continually positive working and learning environment.

It’s this positive impact, combined with the learnings from delivering these services in high footfall, dynamic and critical environments that provides the basis of this offer to our corporate services clients.

Through our conversations across our client base, it is felt that we may not truly return to pre-Covid normal world until well into 2022. The implementation of JR&Co’s Hygiene Supervisors and Specialists, from the moment that you return to work, will not only smooth the transition back to the workplace but will ensure that you can achieve your back to work aims and protect your stakeholders from day 1.

“Despite the worldwide circumstances, the onsite team here, led with dedication by Sirlene, have arrived on time, done their job as expected, not made any fuss and kept everyone safe and well by being meticulous in their delivery and standards. I could not be more impressed with them than I have been, and long may this continue. While others have been enabled to be home, and safe, they have kept coming into work, kept committed and generally been ace. Thank you team!”

The View from Cushman & Wakefield

The View from Cushman & Wakefield

Our client, Cushman & Wakefield, have detailed several changes to the workplace that they expect to occur in the ‘new normal’ and our multi-pronged approach is based upon their recommendations.

This information is based on a survey of over 40,000 professionals and is featured in their “The Future of the Workplace” publication:

The office has a new purpose - The purpose of the office will be to provide inspiring destinations that strengthen cultural connection, learning, bonding with customers and colleagues, and foster creativity and innovation

• The six readiness essentials – Prepare the Building; Prepare the Workforce; Control Access; Create a Social Distancing Plan; Reduce Touch Points and Increase Cleaning; Communicate for Confidence

• Workplace Hygiene - Encourage good personal hygiene and infection control practices when employees are in the workplace

• Regular housekeeping - In open work environments, increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, equipment and other surfaces in the workplace

"Just wanted to take this opportunity to say a Gigantic 'Thank You' to you and your respective teams for all the support and hard work over the last 12 months, we can all agree 2020 was not the year we was hoping for on a business or personal level however under difficult circumstances we have managed to ensure the maintenance and essential services needed at Woburn house continued and
that was down to your excellent work as service providers and this year more than most is very much appreciated by everyone here at CVCP, Woburn house Conference Centre, Universities UK and all the staff and building tenants."

Kevin Latif, Woburn House, WC1H

The View from the Government - Offices and Commercial Spaces

In their Working Safely During Coronavirus Guidance the Government set out the key cleaning objectives and criteria to ensure spaces are Covid secure:

Before Reopening
Make sure that any site or location that has been closed or partially operated is clean and ready to restart, including:

  • an assessment for all sites, or parts of sites, that have been closed, before restarting work
  • carrying out cleaning procedures and providing hand sanitiser before restarting work

Keeping the Workplace Clean
Keep the workplace clean and prevent transmission by touching contaminated surfaces.

Recommended steps:

  • Frequent cleaning of work areas and equipment between uses, using your usual cleaning products.
  • Frequent cleaning of objects and surfaces that are touched regularly including door handles and keyboards, and making sure there are adequate disposal arrangements for cleaning products.
  • Setting clear use and cleaning guidance for toilets to ensure they are kept clean and social distancing is achieved as much as possible.
  • Enhancing cleaning for busy areas.
  • Introducing enhanced cleaning of all facilities regularly during the day and at the end of the day.

"Always passionate, Cristina and the team care about our surroundings and ensure staff, members and visitors have a beautifully clean and tidy venue. The team are super responsive on communications and always go above and beyond to give everyone coming to the premises a great experience."

Maintain enhanced cleaning, including cleaning frequently touched surfaces often, using standard products, such as detergents in line with the risk assessment and timetabling of the day, put in place and maintain an enhanced cleaning schedule.

This should include:

  • more frequent cleaning of rooms or shared areas that are used by different groups
  • frequently touched surfaces being cleaned more often than normal
  • cleaning toilets regularly
  • encouraging pupils to wash their hands thoroughly after using the toilet
  • if your site allows it, allocating different groups their own toilet blocks

"The team have remained at work throughout the whole pandemic and remained cheerful and professional throughout. In the absence of the catering team they have been flexible in helping us manage food deliveries and controlling our stock which is not normally their role. They have also implemented an enhanced cleaning regime in our overnight accommodation enabling us to reopen this service to our members. I cannot recommend or thank them enough".
