2018 A Year in Secure Commercial Cleaning
A year in review…Providing exceptional service through secure commercial cleaning® expertise
As we approach the end of 2018, many organisations are reviewing what they have achieved and planning fresh goals and priorities for the new year. At Julius Rutherfoord & Co we are passionate about seeking ways to enhance our business, to consistently provide clients with expert service and an outstanding customer experience.
This year we made significant changes, starting 2018 with a rebrand focussed on how we deliver secure commercial cleaning® to our customers. Security is an issue that every organisation, large and small, must take seriously to protect people and reputation and we know how important it is to our clients’ business.
To highlight just how meticulous our security procedures are, we created two short videos showcasing our staff vetting and security processes on our client sites. These, and a wide range of other measures, ensure clients are in safe hands and set us apart from other cleaning providers.
Our clients ‘The Serious Fraud Office’ audited our vetting systems last month and we were delighted with the outcome:
“There were no concerns identified in the compliance visit. The supplier carries out adequate pre-employment checks. They are very aware of their reputational risk and illegal working. They use a Keesing identification document scanner (Home Office approved) to check the validity of ID documents. All cleaners are seen in person with their ID documents.
A Compliance visit by Home Office Border Force was conducted in 2016 with no concerns.”
We work hard to raise professional standards and deliver best practice in the cleaning and FM industry. To support this, we created two best practice guides to show the importance of expert management supervision and a healthy environment to keep people and places safe and secure.
Corporate social responsibility
In addition to the investment we make in our staff and their welfare, training and always paying above the National Living Wage, we are proud to annually support many charitable events which work to improve the lives of individuals and communities across London. We often do this in partnership with our clients, reiterating the reputation of their business and ours as socially responsible companies.
In May we sponsored the London Legal Walk, organised by The London Legal Support Trust, an independent charity that raises funds for free legal services in London & the South East. The event helped to raise much needed funds for charities that provide life-changing legal advice and access to justice for those in need.
In March this year we were delighted to win a Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Award for ‘Best Cleaned Premises, Large Education Establishment.’ The prestigious accolade was awarded for our contract with Merton College, and presented at the ceremony on Thursday, 8 March at the London Hilton. From hundreds of entries, we were also highly commended in the ‘Best Cleaned Premises for Office areas below 250,000 sq. ft’ category and chosen as a finalist in a further three categories.
Like all the clients we deal with, they have to maintain an impeccable public image and simply cannot afford to take a casual approach to building security or to levels of hygiene and cleanliness. On all our contracts, site security is a prime focus, supported by a suite of systems including our award-winning contract management app.
This year we were proud to have achieved outstanding independent audit scores from i-Clean (leading cleaning industry consultants) of 96% at Emanuel School (the highest score they have awarded at any of our competitor’s schools), 95% at Sunbury Court (Salvation Army International Conference Center) and 93.5% for cost effectiveness, against a benchmark of 80% for our services to Canary Wharf Management at 40 Bank Street.
Looking to the future
We recognise that our discerning clients are committed to improving their working practices in order to be the very best they can be. We never rest on our laurels and invest in and embrace innovation, both in the equipment we use and the management systems we employ. We look forward to continuing to work closely with our clients in 2019 to provide exceptional standards that support their success and help them reach their goals.
